Video of the Apache Bandit is on it's way. I'm on a video kick right now, so don't get in my way. I should have it uploaded in about an hour.

Here it is. Still digging through for more. If you have not already, you need to go to Rich Luhrs website and purchase these videos. There is nobody doing anything close to this today. http://www.big-seas.com/ I think I'm just going to become a shill for him. Maybe if enough people see how good it used to be, the sport can return to it's former glory days.

Subtle Approach was the first Apache I ever saw in person. What I thought the first time I saw it was "man look at those cleats", they were huge Billet. It was owned by Jay V in Grand Haven for several years, it had 750 Cobra 572 Naturals then, Short Stagger. He traded his 28 Saber for it, the former Great Lakes Caster 28 Saber. I think that Saber is the Team Kansas boat now. Dan L traded his Hawk 525 Top Gun for the Apache. The Hawk Top Gun was later bought, referbed, and had Mitcher Paint, and Kurtis' 750's put in it when Kurt went to Chief's and Six's on his 38 Top Gun(Primal Instinct). The Dan L Cig's Hawk Power was later bought back by Jay V and placed back in a 28 Saber called Purple Haze that he bought. Rumored was the Purple Haze Saber boat previously had 950 Chiefs and was owned by a Nascar Busch Team Owner. I was on the Apache many times and it was BAD. Free board was 6-8 feet, Cockpit Carpet was at least a foot thick, and the High Backs were like bean back chairs as I remember it 300-400 gallons of Vodka ago. I slept comfortably several times in the Apache comforter (cockpit cover) while hooking up with local trailer park queens. It was unmolested at the time with maroon interior, original Black Apache Gauges, and white, maroon and silver graphics.

Hi dear Lucy
Offshore Racing wasn´t designed to be a spectator sport, it's for people or companies with's lots of money to push the envelope of endurance technology and hopefully put a trophy on a mantle. It's man vs the elements, not like boats with like engines running in circles.
