There are dozens of older, clean, less expensive hotels, a block or so from the beach. JC has the course set to run from Pier 60 north and back around... So the Palm Pavilion restaurant would be prime viewing, as well as everything south of that. The private property area starts north of the Palm... You'll be back over and over again! Google Clearwater Beach...

Which one is best to take the wifey too? well depends on what your wife is into! ha ha...Shepards is more of the younger college crowd....you will not see the race from Shepards though.

The shoreline just to the north of your accommodations pushes offshore... So the the entire race course will be visible from the Palm... all along Clearwater Beach! It will be an incredible spectacle...

The Hilton will be a great vantage point for being on the beach, and visibility, along with the Sand Pearl and the Palm Pavilion Inn.

If your searching stay close to Mandalay Blvd. north of Pier 60... The race course will run along that area of the beach community.

Utilize Clearwater Beach Chamber Info at their website:

Hope to have those this coming week, local race committee is gathering.

All your inquiries and contacts are fueling the fire!

Clearwater is new at powerboat racing, but not huge events on the beach! Check back over the week...

This will be the most incredible experience to watch the 'National Championships' from a boat!

I hope you guys are inviting those 'PRA' hot boats to come up from Sarasota on Sunday!

There's a lot of room at Shephards Resort to drop anchor and:

Checked with the Palm Pavilion Inn a few days ago... only a few rooms available for the race weekend! The best viewing of the race, with a beach front restaurant and bar! This is the place to be all weekend!
