I don't know this for a fact, but I have a strong hunch that MTI has ordered more 1300/1350 turbo engine packages from Mercury Racing than any other boat builder, http://www.boats.com/boat-content/20...g-turbo-power/.
Can't wait to see how these cats—all 48-footers—run.

04-07-2010 11:03 AMSkip has to be fuming that MTI is once again stealing his thunder.........
MTI builds the original Mercedes boat (and to a higher detail than Cigarette's attempt)....
Now MTI is ordering more 1300/1350 packages than anyone else......

This is great news. Get the motors on the water... I can't wait to get real world feedback from customers!

We're bullish too. Double R isn't too far behind MTI in packages on order. Mercury has raised the bar. Glad to see the market looking good for Randy and David.

04-07-2010 12:10 PMWay to go, Double R. I have to admit, I wondered at times about Mercury Racing's timing with the release of this product. A big-buck engine in the middle of a recession, when even the big-buck players are looking hard at every purchase?
I guess (OK, I know) Fred Kiekhaefer and company are a whole lot smarter than I am. Not saying the 1300/1350 will fuel an industry "turnaround," but at least it's creating a spark.
