You kow how it can be one of those days?

Well, as I reported in the Tawas cover story, the race would be the first use of the brand new Amsoil Bottle Buoys, a good thing, right?????

As they say, not so fast my friends.......

The buoys were huge, just as Ron Polli said they were. And they had bright green caps to make sure they could be seen.....

Now, unfortunately, they laid on their sides, so the caps couldn't be seen.....

And, they were almost exactly the color of the water otherwise. There were boats that ran several laps in practice on Saturday and never did get around all the buoys.

So, they picked them up and borrowed some orange and yellow ones from the sailing club who helped with the race promotion.....

You can see how big these things are when they were being wrestled back in the boat.....

Ron said it was back to the drawing board to make them more visible, and also to make them stand upright....

In the bottles defense, Bob Teague said he had no problem spotting them....:)

I'm sure they looked really familiar to him, don't you think?????

:sifone:

Thought you were talking about our Bob who would have no problem finding bouys that resembled Corona Bottles:D
