This weekend I participated in the Ft Myers Offshore (FMO) March run, from Sanibel to Burnt Store Marina. For us, we started by guiding the group of boats form the North, the 50+ miles to the start line. After a brief time to take some pictures, we had planned on sending Bob and Jay out first, to get into position to take some group running shots. I had the yellow flag flying, but as soon as one boat went, the entire pack took off. So much for some group running shots. We rounded Sanibel Island and headed North up the Gulf. After we got back into Charlotte harbor, we stopped to help a boat that had gone in the ICW with the in-shore group, apparently they had lost a drive, and then across East to Burnt Store Marina.
I ran a total of 118 miles, burned 53.9 gallons of 93 octane, for an average of 2.19mpg. I was really working the sticks in the Gulf with the 15 knots South winds and a 2-4 foot following sea.
I have posted all 80 of the picture I took below, have liked a few here.
