Man crashes through Coast Guard gate in Michigan, says he has a bomb

(CNN)—A man crashed through the gates of a Michigan Coast Guard station around 6 a.m. ET on Sunday, assaulted personnel and said he had a bomb in his truck, authorities said.

Michigan State Police bomb technicians worked the scene in Grand Haven, CNN affiliate Fox 17 reported, and authorities told CNN that no explosive devices were found and the area was secure.

The incident was initially investigated as a possible "domestic act of terrorism," said Erin Von Tom of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

But no link to terrorism or a terrorist organization has been found, she said. Authorities said the suspect is 34 years old, but they have not named him. Bomb technicians also checked the guard station for explosives and found nothing, she said.

According to a news release, after the man broke through the gates, he went into the station in Grand Haven, which is on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, and assaulted workers. Some subdued him until investigators arrived, and all Coast Guard personnel are safe, the release said.

Exactly. But, the guy didn't get as far there as that other guy did at the White House. :)
