There is not a whole lot which can be said. This is the best I can do. I'm down here in Key West at a time we should be celebrating the competition and companionship of our favorite sport. Instead, we are torn by opposite sides of excitement and grief.
I remember afew years ago when I lost my parents in a car crash. There is never anything which can replace them. But there is nothing which can replace the memories. I recall somrthing which I read at that time which explains where we are probably all at. My interpretation of that is;
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch.
We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you passed, but that you lived.
And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
I cannot think of a more fitting thought.
Cherish the memories as soon as you can.
Our sincerest condolences and prayers.
