Usually washing is something personal and intimate, but this is completely different. We're talking about boats here! When Deco's Chris Van Vliet heard about Bikini Boat Wash, he was tasked with the very difficult job of finding out what, exactly, they do.
We've all seen the music videos, like the one with Jessica Simpson doing her thang, but add some water --some saltwater, that is -- and you've got a whole new business.
Stephanie Wahnish: "This idea came from working on the yachts, up and down the docks here at Bahia Mar, and one day I was working in a bathing suit, and it was hot, and I didn't want the tan lines, and the captain asked me if I'd be more comfortable in a bathing suit, and I said, 'Absolutely.'"
And Bikini Boat Wash took off from there! Stephanie has a team ready to get your boat looking ship-shape, and they come to you.
Chris Van Vliet: "I imagine the best advertising for you is what we're seeing right here."
Stephanie Wahnish: "Absolutely it is. I mean, everybody's watching and everybody wants to know what we're doing."
It only makes sense that the tagline is...
Stephanie Wahnish: "We put the tail in detail."
But you're not just paying for eye candy.
Stephanie Wahnish: "They do an amazing job. I wouldn't hire anyone who didn't have the work ethic that I started with. That's why this whole thing has become so successful, is because of work ethic."
Chris Van Vliet: "This isn't really work, is it?
Christina Edson: "It's really not like work. It's amazing, it's so much fun. We're out in the sun with a bunch of cool girls washing the boats and getting a good workout."
Chris Van Vliet: "Even though I'm not wearing a bikini today, do you think maybe I could try it out here?"
Stephanie Wahnish: "Absolutely. I can get you a matching bathing suit right away."
Chris Van Vliet: "A matching bathing suit, like the male version?"
Stephanie Wahnish: "No, no. Female."
Chris Van Vliet: "Oh. Ohh!"
I convinced them to let me wear my own clothes, then I grabbed a sponge and dove right in. But I quickly stopped because a) they're the experts, let's leave it to them, b) nobody hires bikini boat wash to have some dude clean their boat, and c) because I think I was having too much fun.
The Bikini Boat Wash crew doesn't just wash boats. They also clean interiors, and you can hire them as stewardesses.
