Mine is free standing. Need it when the power goes out for the basement pump. Good thing is we are across from the PD and fire department. It doesn’t go out very often. My buddy George just got one hooked into his house. He paid for the permit to do it. He lives in the middle of nowhere where. I wouldn’t have gave the county any extra money.

I've got the little Green Bastard that can run the Fridge and Coffee Maker (Ryobi 2000 W) Also a few Floor Fans.

After A Hurricane it gets stupid hot,,,,The Doldrums...No Breeze and Humid as heck.

Mine is a little smaller than that yet (I think 8500/9500watt).
It will run everything including AC.
As long as they don't all fire up at same time.
I shut off the main breaker and AC, let everything else start up-like well pump and fridges, then after few minutes re-start AC if summer and hot enough to need it.
