"Official" NCAA Football Smack Talkin Thread

Bobcat's two college teams had a strange weekend.

Maryland destroyed Wisconsin.

Illinois acted like all of their starters were home in bed getting their asses kicked by Indiana.

Oregon just did something that might never have happened in 156 years of college football

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — In the birthplace of college football, Oregon might have accomplished something never seen before in the 156 years of the game.

A performance so dominant in its overall efficiency that it’s difficult to comprehend that two teams are playing at the same sport, let alone belong to the same conference.

The No. 8 Ducks gained 750 yards on just 60 plays, third-best in the FBS this season and most against a Power Four defense, in a 56-10 mauling of Rutgers that was not remotely that close.

The Scarlet Knights had just 202 yards, including a measly 79 in the air from one of the most potent passing attacks in the country.

The 12.5 yards per play by Oregon is the second most in the Big Ten since at least 2000. It happened in the same game Oregon’s defense allowed just 2.93 yards, the Ducks best since Sept. 7, 2019 against Nevada. The gap is almost certainly the biggest in college football history.

Tomorrow's late game is a big deal with 1 versus 2.

It's odd that the Big 10, (with 18 teams  ), has the #1, 2, and 3 ranked teams. The SEC must really be pissed.......

Everybody talks about Miami getting in instead of Natre Dame. I think it's why Alabama instead of Notre Dame? That is the big rub to me. Bama has three losses, 2 of them being slaughters. Here's strength of schedule.

Jim Harbaugh's coaching team at the University sure seems to be on the same page as he is. I root for the Chargers to lose every game, even though Herbot is one of my favorite players ever to have played at Oregon.

January 2023: Michigan co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss is fired

University of Michigan Police Department confirmed it was examining “a report of computer access crimes that occurred at Schembechler Hall during December 21-23, 2022. August 2023: Michigan announces self-imposed suspension for Harbaugh

During the campus police investigation in January, the NCAA announced alleged rules violations by Harbaugh and the Michigan program, including impermissible contact with recruits during the COVID-19 dead period. Following negotiations between Michigan and the NCAA, Michigan announced a self-imposed three-game suspension of Harbaugh. He missed the first three games of the season.

October-November 2023: NCAA investigates sign-stealing, Harbaugh suspended

On Nov. 11, the Big Ten suspended Harbaugh for the remainder of the regular season. Moore, then the team’s offensive coordinator, took over the interim role and led the Wolverines to an undefeated regular season. Harbaugh missed the last three regular-season games before returning for the Playoff and leading Michigan to its first national title since 1997.

May 2025: Michigan suspends Moore for sign-stealing scandal

Before Moore’s second season as head coach, the program self-imposed a two-game suspension on him for his role in the sign-stealing scandal. Moore missed the team’s Week 3 and 4 games against Central Michigan and Nebraska in September.

August 2025: Michigan fined for sign-stealing, Harbaugh and Stalions banned

At the conclusion of the NCAA’s sign-stealing investigation, the governing body announced that Michigan would face fines that could surpass $30 million, but the team was not assessed any postseason bans. Harbaugh was assessed a 10-year show-cause order, barring him from coaching in college until 2038. Former staffer Conor Stalions was handed an 8-year show-cause order for his role in the scheme. Moore was set to be suspended for the opening game of the 2026 season.

December 2025: Moore fired for cause, later detained

On Wednesday afternoon, Moore was fired for “having an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.” He was later detained by police and held at the Washtenaw County Jail.
