Don't they perform some type of pressure testing on the repair prior to shipment?

I am guessing they do, but it can be another weld that let's loose. You would think that when you send them back to CMI they would re-weld all the stressed areas before shipping them out and completely re-condition them. It would be nice if someone from CMI could maybe discuss this and the options we have here in this forum. I have enough things to worry about on my boat without worrying about the exhaust system letting water into the cylinders. I already re-built both motors due to reversion, I don't need or can afford to do it again.

My old fixed CMI's by John.... As you can see, each port is re-welded and not just patched... When you patch you heat the metal and it extorts the area causing the potential for leaks to develop in other areas.

Tails were custom made by John as well... As you can see all the welds are much stronger, he also used a heavier gauge SS tube than what CMI uses.

I may not have the HP running my Stainless Marines as the CMI's, but reliable product with a 5 year warranty.
