the Gordo's are coming to Clearwater to watch the race! Anyone have info on it, like the best place to stay, where exactly it's going to be...etc??? I looked on the SBI site and there's not much to go off of.

The community is still working out final details and specifics... However if you go to the Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce www.beachchamber.com they are spear heading the local involvement. Their website is very informative about the accommodations and features around the area. There's a link on the website for Shephards Resort... party central!
If you're bringing the whole family I recommend the Marriott on Sand Key.... Go to Marriott's website and search for this property, it's an incredible place to stay!
SBI will update info as the weeks progress, the course of the race will be along the beach, which is world famous for wonderful sand and accommodations, close by, food, refreshments... bathrooms!

Thanks for the info! We're hoping to find a place as close to the course as possible on a GORDO budget. ;-)

Hang out at the Palm Pavilion.... All Day everyday! Stay a block or two off the beach at any hotel close to Pier 60! The entire race course will be visible from the beach, standing in the sand! There are some surprises in the works, so stay tuned....

Gotta mark this on the calendar. My sis lives in Tampa, and I can crash there. It's just over 3 hours from my place. I haven't seen an offshore race since I moved to FL almost 3 years ago. Just visiting my folks in Pt Pleasant Beach, and was thinking about all the boat racing I've seen here over the years. Glad I found this thread.

Spread the word to register for the free airfare and accommodations offer...
It helps to show our interest, to these chambers and CVB organizations! They gauge their support by these kinds of info exchanges...

Get set up with rooms at the 'Sand Pearl Resort' as soon as possible! The best view of the race course on the beach!
