    Need to know

White wire with black tracer connected to small post on slave solenoid - where does it go/what does it connect to?

What goes on the R post on the starter?

Brown wire with white tracer coming out of cannon plug - what does it go to?

Thanks ! At shop now posting on BB.

The white wire from the slave solenoid goes to the trannie. It grounds the solenoid when in neutral.

The brown/white wire is most often the trim gauge lead. It is also used for oil temp.

The R on the starter is for ignitions with points. R stands for resistor. Points ignition operate at about 8 volts the R offers 12 volts at cranking to aid in starting.

I'm just going to start titling all my threads "Hey Jim"

Thanks again, I left the shop happy last night after hearing engines crank over with the starter vs. going home pi$$ed with a wrech embedded in the side of the boat.
