Do you have a onboard charger? What type?

I was looking for somthing that can try to keep up with the stereo drain if I'm at dock on shore power, and also maintain the batteries with a trickle when I'm home not using the boat. Is there such a thing?

Of the ones I have, the Charles Industries C-Charger in the Black Thunder is the best of any I've used.
Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

http://www.xantrex.com/web/id/180/p/1/pt/7/product.asp is $500 and probably the best charger if you're running deep cycle for your stereo/appliances and high cranking amp battery for starting, as it will charge different types simultaneously.
