    Microtec stg-556 vs Steyr AUG
    #1
Anyone heard anything about how the AUG stacks up against its newer clone? I have only heard good things about the clone, but no comparisons. If they are even close, the price makes it a no brainer for a shooter.

ttt - got an offer for one (Clone) with 4 mags, optics and the orig box for $1600. New model without the forward assist.

Functionally there's no difference. The Microtech gives you some optics flexibility. The Steyr is now a collectible- kinda silly to shoot it and take a chance on breaking a part you may not be able to get.

I've always liked the rifle- especially since the first Die Hard movie.

Ive been looking hard at theese, the only reason I havent bought one yet is becase no one has it in tan. I would say your not going to get hurt at that price. You can buy the whole kit and kaboodle right down to the Pelican cut foam case from CDNN right now, its about a grand more but you get all the goodies with it. Personally I like the optic that comes with it, the FOV is very small but still tolerable. The ninja rail with any other optic on theese guns just looks stupid.
