Good Call. I did mention something about it last week.

It is better than New Years for me.

The cool thing about Daytona is just about everyone has a chance to win. Not just the fastest or best funded team. There are so many variables, many of which no one has any control over. So you prepare the best you can, get up, say a prayer, and go racing.

I followed NASCAR for awhile in the early to mid 90's, but kind of lost interest.
I was always a Terry Labonte fan (starting last in the field this year), or I also liked the Burton brothers - just because I couldn't figure out how they grew up together, and Jeff could speak clearly, and you could barely understand what the hell Ward was trying to say.

Ward always sounded like he had a mouth full of marbles.

That's is the exact same description I have used for people I know from Fountain. That deep south accent. Funny thing is the deepest south accent is found in eastern North Carolina.

But Jeff did a pretty good PR thing for Exide.
Must have had bedrooms at the opposite sides of the house.

I like Jeff Burton too. He could win on Sunday. He has had some strong years lately. I would like to see him do well.

"Funny never understood the Nascar thing, you know shiny cars driving in circles.......until I met the fans............." Alonzo Boden, Last Comic Standing.

I have a 3 story townhouse on the beach 15 miles north of the track and we avoid going there that weekend (among others).

You could make some serious coin renting it out for race weekends.
