Cool boat- and an incredible piece of history. I'd love to see it redone to the original Maggie's configuration.

The $640,000.00 surveyed value is probably scaring bidders away.

Chris, which boat was the one that was/is for sale at LCM? Seems like it would be a good candidate for a Maggies livery (unless she's got cool history of her own).

I dig the big metal boats. Some day when I find a place to keep all my crap that doesn't cost more that the crap itself I'll pick myself up one of these big metal monsters!

    This says 1983-1984.

There's photos of 'er in Searace.

Wonder if that boat at LCM is the old Maxon boat? (looks like trips vs twins) I called about it a couple years ago and they wanted a ton of money for the boat...

Actually, wasn't the Cougar V-bottom just "Mercruiser Special"? I don't think the "Maggie's" was added to the name until he began campaigning the Cougar cat in I think it was 1985?

Morales had the deep vee Cougar built in 1983. He raced it for the first time at the 1983 Key West Worlds and won the Championship. I believe Morales raced her 8 times from 1983 to 1984, 6 wins, 1 second, and 1 third, he than sold her to Al Copeland.

The Popeyes boat was Mercruiser Special. The yellow one at LCM was MAXON.

Mark, you are correct again. Geo ran it in 83 worlds fresh out of the shop the monster just ran along until all the cats broke.

The LCM boat is the ex Tim Ciasulli boat.

By the time you stick enough power into it to break 100, you could be into an older Skater 46 for about the same $$. That's one heavy SOB.

Aluminum boats are cool but they're LOUD.
