The pink sweater as a "wide load" sign is a nice touch.

I think it is a 1940s era smaller Gar Wood. The transoms were more rounded/barreled in the 30s. More squared off in the 40s. The bigger ones had two exhausts. That pic kind of looks like the transom of the ensign utility model.
Here is a 1947 16 foot Gar Wood with a 92 HP Chrysler. No good transom pics, but I think it's in the ballpark. Bottom would have been green below the stripe. Would not have drawn much water.

Here is another 1947 Ensign Utility. Check out the transom in the pics.

    Worth restoring?

This one is $68,000 and that is for sure a late 40s Utility. Maybe a 19.

As far as location, the photo was taken at the corner of Powers Dr. and Stevenson Blvd in New Kensington PA, and the Rite Aid is on the left, so that is heading southbound. Now, Stevenson Blvd is also 366, which is the bridge from Tarentum. So, in this photo, someone is following the boat they bought in Tarentum on it's way to somewhere near Pittsburgh.

Some guys once took a canoe from farther north in PA than that all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. So you could literally leave from Tarentum and eventually pull up in front of Bobcat's estate on the canal on Little Van Key.

Followed it to a long abandoned cabinet factory/makeshift storage facility/frequent illegal dumping grounds, about 8 miles from the photo location, in a sleepy little inbreed, drug infested, capitol of fire pit country, zombie town. (other than that, they're good people)
I figure, I more than likely witnessed a viking funeral of sorts. The Gar,may have been in better shape than the tow vehicle.

    Funds detective work,was spot on.

    I missed my calling.

I was hoping it was Tuck's boat and we would see it restored.
