I'm curious, if one was to get a set of nxts and switch out the xrs, would the x dim have to be changed? it would already be a little lower ans the nxts are set back about 10 inches. is the lower shorter to accommodate this? on a scale of 1-10 rate the switch over.

01-08-2009 12:21 AMIt works great. The shifting alone with a trans is more positive. Shifting bravos is like shifting mush. The cleaver props handle the boat better. All around I am happy with the NXt's. Check out the video in the formula section.

01-23-2009 09:05 AMRob, be sure to check the feedback people are having on the transmissions.....they are a mini bravo and cost a fortune if you break one... They were breaking a lot, not sure if merc fixed the problem...
Take a look at the diagram below.... its a bravo...

NXTs provide a lot more transom lift than the Bravo. Being a straight bottom, this ought not be a big deal for you.

01-23-2009 12:08 PMthats what i thought, but after talking with Tres and my horsepower, I need to be able to carry the bow more. with the stock motors it did, but needed a little tab or it would porpoise. Now with the new motors, and turning the drives in, i should be able to carry the bow easier. After I get that done, I will then work on the props. Tres had a straight hull like mine with 600 hp in it at 81 mph, so with some tweaking I may get closer.

NXTs will be able to handle the power but different Bottom mods will need to be done accomdate that style LU. The NXT is far different than the #6 or bravo. The Bottom mods are not that expensive to do either. But the ablility to use all those nice expensive props opens up new ways to change lift over bravo style props.
