Two men were killed in a boat crash Friday night on the Colorado River, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

A news release said deputies from the sheriff's department's Colorado River Station responded to the Needles Marina around 6:15 p.m. Friday about an accident involving two boats and seven passengers.

The accident occurred about a 1/2-mile north of the Needles Bridge, the release said.

Passengers from each boat were ejected into the water. The drivers of both boats were killed on impact, and the five passengers were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Members of the sheriff's department's dive rescue team helped locating the body of one of the divers. The identities of the victim are being held by the sheriff's department until positive identification can be made.
