Rick Kotecki and Dave Humenmy were running along in Class 4 trying to push Simmons Marine when they took an unexpected detour. But, other than losing a Go Pro, everything still worked and they were able to finish the race.

Doing just fine in earlier laps.

Could have been worse...... I know that we cannot keep up with the twin engine boats off the start or any straight so
I started pushing into the turns very tight, like F1 Boats. To keep the rpm's I was over trimming the motor while existing to
help increase acceleration. I than started "cheating"... I started over trimming a little sooner, than in the middle of the turn,
than at the apex of the turn.. just sliding the boat out a little as we would exist. I knew what we had been doing was "on the edge"
but in the heat of the moment I keep doing it till this happened... After we re started and did another lap I started doing it again, but
not until we had existed the turn.

But the little boat held up with no issue.. We never stalled.. just tucked the drive in, pointed her in the right direction and
took off after Simmons Racing. After the race we gave her a quick inspection and found no cracks, no paint chips,
no lamination separation and no GoPro

I will be looking for it, mowing the lawn, it won't be downriver very far, within 60' from where it dropped. Hard part is location to East to West.

Maybe you can get the GPS location of the buoy and have a very close starting point?
