12-13-2013 10:28 AMThis one is a bit confusing. Isn't the Brave a 28' and the Scout a 21'?
Did the Scout actually measure 22 1/2 centerline?Last edited by Ratickle; 12-13-2013 at 10:37 AM.

02-26-2014 06:58 PMHey Frank, how are you doing? But yours is a Scout, correct? I'm trying to figure out how there was a 22 1/2' Brave. I'm actually wondering if it's a real Apache at this point.

02-26-2014 10:24 PMDoing well, thank you. Yeah, it's a gen 1 Scout. They are stamped 22' but its a 21'. I think it was for sale on the west coast. Same design I have.

02-27-2014 12:37 PMThanks. It's been a really fun boat to use when not running the big boat. The kids enjoy it too.
Below is the first day on the water last year after reviving the boat from Hurricane Sandy. Also a video of the first fire-up a few weeks ago with the new 355" I built this winter. Should be finished with the dyno in the next 2 wks, hoping for 450hp.

02-28-2014 11:29 AMThe 2nd boat posted also looks like a regular Scout and my guess is it's a typo on the length.
Last year the Scout ran 63 mph with a stock 300 hp, 350mpi so I'm expecting to see low 70's. In my late teenage years I worked on this boat and at the time it had a 400 hp, 383 in it. It supposedly ran 72 so I'm using that number as my bench mark.

06-01-2015 06:43 AMI think you did awesome on the price. If it runs and there is no wood rot, you have yourself an awesome piece of Apache history to play with for a real bargain.
Will you it in the Sacramento River Delta or the Bay?Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

I will post more pics after work. Not sure if I will run it in the bay salt water . The top of the bay is 20 min from house . The boat has never been in salt water . The boat is a virgin unmolested . I would bet this is the cleanest unrestored Apache scout . I will post photos and videos in the coming weeks

Pressure test the exhaust manifolds and check the riser gaskets. Split the alpha and do the gaskets and impeller. The rest I would play by ear with an SBC.
As for your paint question elsewhere... hard to tell the original paint scheme, because they were all different.
I know Gail did the Braves, but I can't remember if she did the Scouts. Might be worth asking her.
