SURFSIDE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida family is devastated after their $55,000 boat was stolen from their home.

Just after 11 a.m., a 2012 Yamaha 242 limited S boat, was taken from outside of a Surfside home on Wednesday.

The Frega family bought the boat less then six months ago. "This was a shock for us. This is a very secure neighborhood," said boat owner Ada Frega.

A bearded man is seen on surveillance video walking up to the home and knocks on the door. When no one answered, he walks away. A few minutes later, Frega's daughter is seen leaving the home. Then a white Ford pick-up truck pulls up to the home. A man looks at the boats trailer and drives off.

The same truck returns to the home, the man hooks the boats trailer to his truck and drive away with the pricey boat.

Frega believes the man who knocked on her door, and the man who took her boat are the same. "I'm frustrated because the whole family feels sad. We feel that we are not secure," said Frega.

Surfside police has not commented on the video. 7News can't confirm if it's the same man.

Frega was hoping to celebrate her husband's birthday and Memorial Day weekend at sea. "My whole family was waiting for that weekend to come, to enjoy the boat," said Frega.
