    28 Cig Restoration
    #1
Ended up with this boat a month or so ago. According to the title it is a 1972 27'10" Cigarette. It was setup with staggered small blocks connected to Mercruiser "R" drives with Sportmaster lowers. It is prior to HIN requirements, so it's been really hard to track any history. The boat was sitting for years, and was full of leaves. I have started a full rebuild on it.

Here are some pics of when I got it home....

Plan is to put a set of 383's in the engine room, but first it had to be stripped, cleaned, and re-painted.

First I stripped the engine compartment, and ended up with a pile of parts.

After about 10 pressure washings, lots of degreaser, and a ton of elbow grease, I was ready to start grinding.

I ground the entire engine compartment to prepare it for a new coat of paint.

Next it was time for some paint. Here is what I ended up with after 3 coats of BilgeKote.

While waiting on paint to dry, I ended up stripping all of the cables and wiring. The wiring was a rat's nest so, I decided to start from scratch.

Next on the list is to repair the cracks in the cockpit floor and deck, so that both can be re-painted.

If you open a photobucket account you can post your pics in a bigger format! which would highlight your work.
