Not sure what’s going to happen with Powerquest. All he has is V-bottom molds. If he was able to make them cheaper then the rest of the crazy priced stuff , maybe he can make it. My cars are over priced enough, glad I’m not a boat dealer. They need to come out with a 25ft center console you can do a 5 year lease on. Payments a small town family’s can afford.

    Mornin!

I think the Price of Materials (anything Oil Based) Is most of the Cost of a New Boat...I hear that from Guys that are Restoring Boats....

I Emailed Harbor Freight...They're sending Me a Shipping Label to return the extra Welder....I just saved Them $600 ....You think I'd get some

Store Credit or something....I mean They had no Record of it.

The beginning of the fukdemic we ordered a 4 person hot tub. Got it and had it running. Got a notification they were sending my hot tub. LOL. My neighbor was all set to take it, but I manned up and called them to admit I already had one. Dam it sucks to be nice.

This. Sale or 5 year lease then sell them used like rental cars. Have one V hull design. Basic but customizable. Sell one outboard SKU that works for most. Basic trailer. One model. Period. Keep the systems to a minimum. Package weight under 5,000lbs. One interior. Company motto: Perfection is the enemy of fun. Be the Volkswagen of boats. Not Ferrari. We could find a finance company to do everyone who doesn't come with their own note. Everything we do, we do in bulk. One sku. All parts fit all boats. Best use of inventory management and less stock on books. Don't have parts fabbed. Use stock stuff. Make deal with outboard supplier. Again, one sku. Interchangeable. One common bracket. A simple one. One color. White. Nobody will see that coming.
I can do the whole plan if you want to do it. We can call it Captain Bob's Dam Good Boats. Or maybe "Captain's Quarters" after the fact that we only do 25s.

I recommend we splash the 27 Monza.
Cut it down and add the bracket.... viola.

You can be president if you float the capital. I'll do all the management/logistics, A/R, and A/P but I want VP and a display model to use.
I have an idea for labor but we should probably talk about that in person.

I kind of see one company to build and one to hold, finance and distribute. But maybe not needed.

Anybody else want in? Seems like they would sell nationwide. We need reps in upper and lower great lakes, down south, Florida...
We could work with one trucking company and flatbed them regionally. People could work with Jeff Murray for one-off transport needs. The logo is that one 25 foot model. The boat is the brand. The brand is the boat.

Good job. I wish the industry would recognize these needs. I give Ford credit for recognizing the issue with a small truck . The Maverick is a great price point. But as always they came running with their paints around their ankles. Good times or bad times they never get their game face on.

You guys should have gone to the Miami boat show. There had to be at least 20 companies with 24' to 27' center consoles. They are everywhere. When we were walking through, with guys who had been in boat manufacturing and sales their entire careers, we were astounded at how many different companies there were we had never heard of.

Even Bayliner was selling boats there! They were advertising a 22' CC with a single 300 for around 50K with a 10 year warranty with payments at $500 a month. And a 24' CC for around 65K with payments around $600 a month.

    We were surprised.

I think the down payment required was only $1500 and it was a 10 year loan or something at 6.5%.

Kind of reminded me of the old days.

I did see a company advertise a RIB for around 20k with a 20hp on it. The RIB had tiny tubes on it. But an attempt to get young families on the water. I have proven you don’t need a 38ft boat to have fun. It a great way to get your kids off the internet and have some good old fashioned fun.

Damn it. Happens every time. I was soooo late to the idea I sold it to Bob, who works every day at an idea from 1917.
