10-04-2024 10:26 PMFlew up to Indy, got the car to replace the one Terri totaled, drove y up to Michigan today.
The adjusters were there before I left yesterday, looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

I didn't know Terri was in an accident. Is she ok?

Hope see is ok. Doesn’t take much to total a car these days. You set the airbags off and it’s 3/4 the way totaled.

10-05-2024 09:20 AMShe was sore, but fine.
None of the airbags went off, even though the front of the Explorer was pushed back into the engine. That's why they totaled it.
She wanted another black/black/blacked out Explorer Sport, loaded up like hers, so it took awhile to find one with a perfect carfax, one owner, low miles etc. Finally did at a dealer in Indy, so I flew up there and drove it home yesterday. Couldn't leave until after the adjusters reviewed the flooded house Thursday afternoon.

10-06-2024 12:23 AMI will never understand what the heck they are saying anymore. Here is the hurricane scale:
CATEGORY WIND SPEED
1 74–95 mph
2 96–110 mph
3 111–130 mph
4 131–155 mph
Then you have Helene, same stuff they say over and over, this is from the same article:
Hurricane Helene made landfall as a major Category 4 storm. Helene landed near Perry, Florida, at approximately 11:10 p.m. ET with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph.
But, in the same article:
The peak wind gust overall was 106 mph in Mount Mitchell, North Carolina, at an elevation of approximately 7,000 feet.
Dangerously powerful wind gusts were also reported in Perry, Florida, where Helene made landfall (99 mph), Cedar Key, Florida (84 mph), Reidsville, Georgia (79 mph), Savannah, Georgia (76 mph), Beaufort, South Carolina (75 mph) and Indianapolis, Indiana (68 mph).
https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/to...d=BingNewsVerp
Nothing actually measured close to a Cat 4 storm, barely a Cat 2 with the gusts, not sustained as required.....Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!
