Damn that sucks. All we had was a problem with our flight into Atlanta so we had to sit an extra 1 1/2 hours to catch a later flight.

So the root analysis is that Bruces paint was holding the trailer together????

We knew the trailer was in bad shape, but we had no idea it was THAT bad.....I think it was the boat and the scooters that held the trailer together long enough for us to come to a stop.

When I left Simmons in the pits to go do the dunker this orning, he had the exhaust on with the new holes in the transom. He had to finish those up, install throttle line, fuel line, and go. I'm heading back that way in a few minutes, fill you in later...

No, they hurt one of the turbines in testing Thursday and were unable to run.

Sorry, Jim SImmons ended up with a boat without a driver, he was hoping Bob from Time Bandit could make it up to drive, but Bob couldn't. So, since I'd already done the dunker and physicals and had all the credentials, I was drafted. Darn.......

But, it gave me no time to do other stuff, plus I was supposed to get some seat time in Wil's boat on Saturday, but he was held back from launching because of a crack in a side window. So he did not get to practice himself on Saturday....

Anyway, what a great venue again, outstanding town. I'll get more up. But, back to the title of this thread, WORK!

Pirate, with the new Merc 525 and their other work, is "Almost" officially the fastest SVL on the planet. 91.850 two way average in the Kilo run, awesome. They beat out Wil and Larry by about 1/2 mile per hour...... WORK!

Wild Card, an imaculate boat. May be the sweetest looking SVL out there currently. And the detail to matching colors throughtout the boat is incredible. On top of that, their best one-way run in the Kilo was over 94 I believe. They just didn't get the opposite way down.... WORK!

Typhoon, the bright green engine compartment looks really sweet. They had to do a little extra work Saturday after their Kilo run because they forgot to put one hose on to direct the pop-off water to the outside of the boat so tested bouyancy......WORK!

And last, Simmons in Octane. You've seen the pics from a few short weeks ago. They were cutting holes in the transom to mount the exaust in the pits on Saturday. Splashed the boat before the race on Sunday, started it there, (had a small problem with the boat jumping into reverse by itself!), then we went out and ran a two heat race. Now this is with a throttle man who never throttled the boat, a driver who never drove the boat, and a boat which had never floated with the current stup, current tab setup, current engine in it, new stringers, new transom, new bulkheads, etc.........

Finished both heats, actually started to figure the boat out and were closing the gap on Typhoon by the end, and really had no major issues other than we were on the limiter by about 200 yards out of the corners and all the way to the other end of the straight every lap. Jim Simmons and his team, congratulations. I am honored to have been able to be a small part of that group..... WORK!!!!

Great job by everyone, hate that tug it could not join! Bummer after all the work to not make it because of that...

Congrats to the pirates! Sounded like two good races. And my hat goes off to Jim Simmons, to do that much work to a boat, fire it in the wet pits and complete a race ? Holy cow that's impressive! Now dial that thing in and go kick some butt!,,

Great job by all the teams
