    1991 Fountain 38 SC Refresh
    #1
What started out as a simple refresh turned into a complete rebuild. Six months later here is the almost completed project.

All new interior, cockpit, rebuilt 502s and a 12,000 watt stereo system. Once I decide on a theme it will be painted, most likely this winter.

    Photos here.

    And the boat.

Well yes I guess we did. I own a custom bodyshop with an audio and upholstery department. My head audio installer is currently rated #2 in the country by mobile installer magazine. He went a little nuts with his end of the project.

Yanking it out of the water this weekend and will post some pics of the sub box in the engine bay. IT lights up like Clark Grisworld on Christmas Vacation too.

At 42 years old the different colors get a little annoying for me so I normally use the soft white mode. However the etched Fountain logo in the galley backsplash does look cool when it changes colors

IOt was a tough decision for us between the SC and the BT, both have room and speed. The deal maker for us was that I could not find where any SC's had broken the 100mph mark.

What is the fastest SC you have heard of? Black Thunders are sweet I wanted one but couldn't find one in are price range. Auto is yours staggered? and does it list to the starboard side, I find myself always running with the starboard tab at around 3.

Mine is a 43, not staggered. We're tweaking the bottom now, we'll see how well it runs next year. It is not average, a step bottom with 750's and 3a's.

The fastest 38 SC I ever heard of was the one Shogren did with the triple whippled 525's. It ran 88 I believe. I don't know if they ever got it up to 90. They probably know as much about the SC's as anyone on the planet.

    I think the 48SC with the triple 700's and #6's ran 90 ?

    And sorry for the hijack....
