Remember these 3 wheel death traps? Well this is apparently the only ATC 250R still in an original crate. Bids are over $44,000 and it has not met reserve. Story is the guy selling bought it last year for $25K and is looking to get $50K for it now.

I had a good time on those.
Just like anything else...Gotta use your head. Everyone loved seeing the wheelies on one rear tire.
I had slower crappy ones actually, ATC110 and ATC 185. Sold the 100 to a friend who made it to the end of the street when picking it up, went to turn around in our cauldesac, tipped over and broke his leg. His mother made him give it back and said I could keep the ca$h. We just spent it together mutually after he healed.
I thought that they were fun for what they were, but I sure ain't interested at NO $50k

I watched my brother almost kill himself on my ATC 70. My Dad tackled him off of it just in time, right before it cartwheeled a few times down a dirt road.

Had the Honda 3 wheeler CR250 with the fat tires. What a death trap, lived thru it!

Ah, good times. Sorry I am going to miss the shenanigans this year. I guess there is no need for a poll about which one of us will end up in jail first this year.

Yea those things were bad news, I knew a kid down the street that lost his leg to one. His parents sewed and won a nice chunk of change. His parents spent the money and he, got very little.

this is one crazy fast trike. It is 370cc motor built in cali by ct racing with around 65 hp on 110 octane. I started this project in 03 and finished in 07 with 9k invested. and its all like new except fuel tank. I do ride it in spurts here and there but I would like to trade it for something usefull. It has less than 5 hrs on it with nikasil cylinder (many more hours before rebuild)

    Here's mine.

As for them being dangerous, so are motorcycles in the hands of an untrained rider.....and offshore boats, and mx bikes, and skateboards, and skydiving, and base jumping, and.......

You get the point. People talk bad about offshore boating all the time and we don't like that at all. Just because a handful of you don't agree with these things doesn't mean they're anymore dangerous than anything else with a motor in/on it. I say if you don't like it don't comment. No one is forcing you to get on one and ride it. Given my over 30 years of experience around atc's and atv's I can tell you for a fact that a three wheeler is no more dangerous than a four wheeler. The times around which they were marketed are night and day different.

The R in the ad is a great piece of collectible history. The market for these things has grown beyond what you could imagine in the last decade or so. Just like our boating they have a following that loves and adores them with a great deal of passion. These things are selling on a regular basis for 3-4 times what they sold for when they were new. To the right person that R is no different than a one off Yenko Camaro from the 60s.

A thong is like a barbed wire fence, it protects the property but doesn't ruin the scenery.

There's only two kinds of atc riders, the kind that have run themself over, and the kind that will run themself over. Has to be one of easiest lessons I ever learned, take your foot off the peg and you'll walk different for atleast a week.
