I think his last article on them maybe got him kicked to the outside of the phenomenon camp.

We have been out of touch, but have not quit the project. We still remain focused on the goal of the speed record and are currently working in that direction. Scott had to have surgery on his arm for a detached bicep and this slowed down the project a litttle bit. We are awaiting new thrust tubes that will allow us to attach a tiebar between the drives so that we may continue our testing. Will be back in the water next month and will keep you updated. Thanks for your support in this project, as always our focus is to make Al's wish of breaking the record come true and we will.

Thanks for the update...but in this day, it would be nice to see this project on a blog of some sort. sinking or not, things happen, but publicity and promotion is ONLY a good thing when chasing a speed record to support Big Al's, and his son's, dream. There seems to be little to no info unless it is leaked out somehow. this is 2010, LET's GIT'R DONE!
    Good Luck!

well lets internet autopsy the big pig anyway heres my 2 cents yank 2 drives off and either gear the turbines together with a big massive drive (there out there in use with huge turbines) or use just 2 hairdryers connected to the props and convert the other 2 to blowtourches or replace with a pair of goood ol J79s and use 2 for thrust it should be within the rules? Al would have done it just for the fire show with the afterburners!
