Anyone in Phoenix area that could eyeball a boat?
    #1
May want to have someone take a look at checkmate in the Phoenix area . Just want an experienced eye to look it over to see if worth pursuing. Will compensate for the time, cash or beer your choice. Thanks

I wouldn't mind taking a look for ya. Is it a private seller, or dealer/broker boat?

Pm me some details and we can talk.

Hitman - what part of PHX you in? Never seen you around before. What kind of boat you running?

Hey Jim and George - let me know when you're getting together, and I'd love to grab a beer with you both. Wouldn't mind laying an eye on the boat too, just because I dig cool boats. And they are all cool.

George and Tim-I will be coming to PHX next saturday the 18th. Getting in early and gonna look at the boat and conclude the business part. Randy says there is a lake 10-15 minutes from his place and after the business we can take the boat for a shakedown. Love to have you guys come if you want. If not maybe a beer before I fly home at 7:00

This Randy must be out in Apache Jct. or something (I'm shopping for a house out that way).
Sagauro Lake is right up that way too, probably the closest. Apache I've never been to, but I started on my way up there after checking out Canyon, and it's about 18 miles of rutted dirt road on cliff sides, and I mean cliff sides!! Kinda scared me at the idea of tugging a boat up there, I turned around after a mile or two. I was looking for a place to put the cruiser before I get the Pantera back together, Canyon or Saguaro seemed like a decent choice. Basically a place to put the water condo, and to bring the "hot rod" to on weekends. Apache lake seemed too far out and a PITA for me to get to. There is also Pleasant, but that's up on the WAY North end of town, and then there is also another lake up up on the NE side of town that I've been told of but can't recall the name, and have never been.
If you need a tow vehicle other than Randy's, I'm running a 2500 Avalanche, and would be happy to offer it up to tow.
I'll pm you both my #, still have the area code of my last town, just never changed it.

    CONGRATS!!! JIM!!!

It's a nice boat. Great shape, and a couple minor tweaks and you'll be good to go.
It was great to meet both you and George today - and Thank you for inviting us to tag along. It was great to get out on the water today. Let me know if you make it back into town and we'll all get together again.

George, call me - help me put the Pantera back together

Checkmate 251 Convincor 502/Bravo. Very nice solid boat!

I'm not sure, but I think Jim bought the boat from the son of Anthony Kiedis.
Nice guy, he goes by the name "Skeeter".

A couple more photos of the new ride:

Much thanks to Buoy and Hitman (Tim and George) for their help and going on the check ride with me.

P.S. if you are visiting the Phoenix area and having a beer with Tim, let him pick the barstools.

    My pleasure Jim!

HEHE on the barstool comment. Yeah, sitting right in front of the sink where the barmaid with the low-cut tank-top was washing glasses was a very good place to be
