I know Martin is in charge of P1....but since there SVL is being suspended for now... since thats what I read...and P1 wants a big boat count...

Martin...how about doing a P1 race in OPA for the Long Island race in Class 5....and bring a 29 or 27 Fountain in also....

Randy is going to run in Class 5 in L.I. and there will be around 10+ boats in the class....
I'm not trying to step on anyones toes...but if the SVL's are not running and from what I read was the P1 wanted 9+ boats for the prize money....
Class 5 is the only class out here today that can bring that to the table...

also..look what else it brings in....

    Hulls:
    Superboat O/B
    Superboat Y2K
    Mirage
    26 Joker
    28 Joker
    Activator
    Krypt
    DCB

    Engines:
    Ilmor
    Merc 525
    Merc 2.5 OB's
    Crocket Racing Engines
    Sirrus Racing Engines
and at least 3 custom engines

4 Races and 4 differant winners:

You want 15+ boats in a class....this has the easy making of that....just by looking at the list of differant hull manufactures....and all be competitive...even if your running a 25 year old hull....its still competitive...

This is what Bruce posted on another thread...

"It's unfortunate that the class took a step or two backward. Several factors played a role.

    Politics
Teams can't stick to the schedule we agreed on earlier in the year.
    False promises
    Broken rules and....
    Poor Sportsmanship.

I think the old saying is "lead by example". Well, that surely went out the window.

It is my hope that we can re-group during the off season, and everyone plays by the same set of rules.

    Time will tell."

So that is why I suggested the P1 thing also

I was also just informed that I did see the word suspended:

    I just recieved this:

At 9:08am the SVL season was suspended per their class rep. However it only looks that the suspension only lasted 3 hours due to 12:15 the original post was amended to only being "adjusted".

Quick to quote...maybe.....But it looks like CLEAN UP ON ISLE 3....

Mark....no one has it going on other then we want to race...and build the class up....no politics or agenda's here...just want to race and against as many boats as we can in our class

I did not know if any of you SVL's had any info about the P1 since you guys ran it this year...did you guys get paid from Martin or P1 this year...and also if you guys are on hold till you get things worked out with the rules (weather its by this weekend or 3 months)..with OSS schedule being done for the year..I think SBI has 3 races and then Key West and OPA has 3 races and there Worlds...do any of you guys have a boat that would fit into Class 5 like Randy dose..the more the marrier...

Can you PM me Martin's number....

    Thanks

Hey George...I talked to Martin....and I don't get involved in the politics..its not the place for a racer...thats part of the problem with our sport...to many bosses not enough employees with to many racers that can't follow the rules and get along. Martin has explained the P1 program to me....thats all I needed to know....He explained why the Class 5 suggestion would not work..he did not trash anyone or Org....
I have no problem with Ron or OPA...and never had...if I had asked something that OPA had a problem with...they would handle it like its suppost to be..they would have called me and we would have talked like gentlemen..like we have had in the past....but in the end I don't run OPA and its no place for a racer to get involved in the politics...but if I can some how get a few more boat to our class then so be it....
But were some racers go wrong...if they don't like to play by the rules..they take there ball and complain and go elsewhere....

daysavoooooo.....How many times have you seen this since you have been racing...There are times when you can say..you can learn from the past...and that is true...and then there are some that will not learn from the past and the attitude is its my way or will start our own or go elsewhere....

Personally...and I don't speak for OPA or any other ORG.....But I would not have tolarated so much BS that OPA has delth with over the years from some...I think when you let posion in....it affects everything you have worked for and will set you back...

    Just my views....
