That drive would be on the bottom of the lake if you didn't have external steering.

That would have been convenient for the insurance company.

Is Progressive always a PITA? They seem to have cheap rates, but maybe this is why.

thats good to hear. how do you "overlook cracks on the hull and marks on the outdrive?" insurance companies are always looking out for their dollar.

I have had Progressive over 10 years. I have only had a couple of claims but they have never given me issues.

How did you keep it from sinking?
I look at my drive and always ask myself wtf do I do if I ever snapped it off like that?
    Good luck with repairs

Ohio Watercraft helped using their hand pump and also ran my bilge pump but we still probably took on at least a good 20 gallons. No damage to engine and boat is already at shop. Looks like they are going to be doing some fiberglass repair and gel coat finishing. I will be bootless for two weeks.

Floatie key chains! I like that!, I'd wondered in the past what I would do if something like that happened to me. A sailing friend suggested to me to keep some rags and plastic bags and stuff the hole from the outside.

Wax toilet bowl ring works good for smaller leaks, but wouldnt want to fill an outdrive hole with them

progressive has been really good, they have been checking with the shop to get updates. they already sent me the check, parts on ordered engine and everything on transom has been removed to start fiberglass repair. Shop told me that I am getting a new Mercury HP gimble housing hehe whatever that does i guess just stronger built.
