When I was in Asia I was always shocked by the generosity of people we would consider impoverished, I would bring a package of hot dogs and they would slice them up and mix them with rice and feed ten to twenty people.

06-27-2010 09:38 AMWhen I was going to college, working two jobs to pay my way, I bought a house. Couldn't afford to eat much. Weekends to Mom and Dad's to eat and scrounge leftovers, but during the week....
Spaghetti ($5 was at least four days worth of lunch and dinner. Had to buy the cheap no meat, no name, sauce though).
Kraft Mac and Cheese (Could always find somewhere they were on sale 4 or 5 for $1).
Balogna on sale. Bread on sale. $2 = 10 sandwiches.......Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

I still like ramen noodles ! I usually get them for emergency Hurricane supplies. I think they are 19 cents each at Publix! Turkey bologna is also cheap at a $1.49 a pack.
