    tested my 240sport

    ok i have 540 dart . 1000holley carb dart pro1 heads dart sinlge plane intake msd stainlless headers k/n flame arestor 100 gallons fuel boat ran 76.7mph trim tabs to long to low i cut 6in .took another run 78.8 mph gps . that was at 5400rpm .this weekend i will test some more

    , now if u clean that bottom ( picture ) then u gain 1 more mile ..LOL

    thats a oldpicture and you are rigth i clean the bottom pickup 1.8mph . i got to change that picture. i going saturday

    Why are you cutting your tabs off? Are they mounted to low? I ran 380's (31" long) on my 240 and they didn't slow me down a bit when up, and they were mounted closer to the drive than the factory location. My best speed was 89mph GPS with more throttle and RPM's left at the end of last summer.

    had a 240 myself. took a while to get to 81 with a 540/625. raise the X and add a box. with 1/2 tank of fuel, you should be over 80 easy

    the trim tabs were to low so i cut them down it work better . .when i ran 50mph there are fine but wotthe bow wt up the tabs went down to much . thats whyi cut 6in

    just got back from testing my boat at 2500rpm doing 30mph at 32oo i am doing 45mph at4100 i am doing 60 5500doing 80 mph did a little ajusting and had 50gallons of fuel .trim tabs working alot better
