Angel, of anyone, you should know the sbc situation, since your 24 and 28 both had them. That's how i'd build a 28... twin 450-500sbc.

Rob that 28 of mine with small blocks was very well balanced ... honestly with todays technology I have no idea why anyone would power a 28 with twin BBC it makes no sense whatsoever.
As for my 24 Pantera well that was a SBF 351W ,
originally back in 85' it was sold as hull and deck and the owner powered it. Not very fast but RELIABLE to the nth degree. Only replaced the aluminum Edelbrock exhaust because it was like 20 years old and the points condensor once...other than that just oil and plugs.

I'm going SBC on this one and see if it will provide the power I'm looking for with reliability and not spending a lot of $$$$ like I know a BBC would be.

I have a hoist at the house if you need it, Ray did a redneck thing that may work, with the hoist in the back of a pickup

Don't u think its easyer to go to a marina and just have it lifted out and set on your pick up ?????

After u unbolt everything,,i always do it that way, leave 2 bolts in it ..loose, and then just pay the fork truck guy 20 bucks...lol

Maybe on the west coast, nobody works for $20 in Miami

Just talked to Angel, his plan should work, heck, look at what we did to get Rays out, I have also done it the way Angel is working off of a set of beams with a chain hoist. I told him worst case, I have a hoist and a lifted pickup

Rick I appreciate the hoist offer but I just ran down to Lowes and picked up 2 - 2x6x12's pressure treated and thru bolted them with some carriage bolts. Then I got some 5x5 aluminum angle from Simmons here in Miami (Cheapest place for your alum. and stainless needs here in South Fl.). I mounted the 2x6 on end on top of the alum. angle and straped them down with a couple of bolts to the alum. angle and used Red Head bolts for the concrete. Just gotta paint it now to match the house and now I have a lift available to me anytime ..... hope the wife likes it since she still doesn't know i did this
