correct me if im wrong. that is a 30 footer w/twins and trs drives. i believe it would be allowed to run class 5. However, it really should be in class 4 (IMO). Not sure if it still has original power in it. It was a very competitve boat a few years back.

From what I remember there were a couple twin small block boats grandfathered in and the thought was twins should jump up to 4. Again Smitty is more than fair on this so if it fits in 5 it would go in 5 (but i suspect its a 4 / 85mph class boat even as it sits).

Class 5 (75mph) , I would think class 4 (85mph) would just be a little much for the old girl IMHO.

I'm thinking 5. I wasn't really thinking about it until today. I've been in the boat and always liked it

Back in 04, When Bill Gazel owned it, SBI allowed him to run P-5. Citing he was grandfathered in.

In 2004, P-5 SBI/APBA Rules were 28 feet max, single engine. I doubt very much it would be allowed to run P-5 in SBI these days.

But from what he said he was running 2.5/200hp's motors, not 2.5/280's and thats a big difference IMHO

The only issue with five is the added stability of twin screws is really a pretty big advantage since the races are won in the corners. But again smitty will do whats fair. Either way get that old girl back on the course!!!
