I'm just glad to see an American getting paid big money to play America's pastime rather than a guy that speaks no English from a 3rd world country enjoying South America's pastime.

Kid had a 33mm contract in 07 so hopefully his lavish spending desires have been taken care of already. A 26 year old with huge money and only a high school education could be a financial disaster!

Enjoy the ride Joe but make sure to keep enough to have when the ride is over!

ARod makes 27 mil this year.

Its about time the Twins ponied up some money instead of them just pocketing all the revenue sharing money theyve collected over the last 10 years. Just think if they held onto Santana, Hunter and Ortiz amongst others.

Hometown kid got a big check. Its about time some of these smaller market teams step up. If you put and keep great players on the field the people will come and spend money. He's arguably the best player in the league and should be moved to first base but the already have an MVP there in Morneau.

    Gonna be a FUN year!

Or if he blows his knee out and never plays again, he makes 27-33 million a year for the next 9 years.
