Has anyone tried Teflon coating lowers?

We have a local guy that does coatings and has one that is slippery as chit. It has tefon as well as other chemicals in it and has been used in the marine trades. Has anyone tried these types of coatings on thier lowers?

Dean,, is it spray on,,, or baked on,? we have it down here also and it is baked on at 800 degrees,???what does that do to a case??? i don,t know,,reasearch before you do,,good luck be safe,,

If you could do it with little bumps in it like sharkskin or golf balls you might see some real improvement. Pretty sure that's why Merc leaves the Speedy lowers rough.

Julie, that looks like the stuff we are talking about. What does it do for the prop?

This is PVD or particulate vapor deposition. In this case we have used formulation with a concentration of Titanium Nitrate. One of our goals is to increase the strength of the propellers. There are some additional interesting effects as well, that we somewhat anticipated....more on this later.

By increasing the strength, with the PVD, we can now CNC machine the propeller thinner. As we all know thinner is faster and you gotta thin to win!
