I need some advise. My youngest daughter is getting married in June and they were planning on a destination wedding in Cancun or Puerto Vallarta Mexico, however, we are finding out all the resorts in Mexico want to bend you over for the ceremony even though it only amounts to a few people standing on the sand and a small cake afterwards.
Has anyone been through this before and can you recommend a place to stay? At this point she doesn't really care where it is. Doesnt have to be Mexico. We gave her a budget for the wedding and a reception back here in KC and they both want to spend the majority on the money on the reception.

My wife and I got married on the beach in Ponce Inlet , FL. We had around 25 guests and spent a whopping grand on the whole deal.

Click here to check out a buddy of mines wedding in Cancun, we are using the same photographer. Click the Cancun button on the bottom left, they were at the Riu in Cancun.
It was the same week at the boat races in KW 2008 so we missed it but heard it was a good time and nice place!
Give me direct questions and I'll ask him?

I have a 3 bedroom - 3 bath place right on the beach in Ponce. Let me know if your daughter needs a nice place to stay. The Obama tag line prompted this response.

Got married on the beach in Treasure Island FL.
Guests - 0
Hired the JP over the internet.
He did the ceremony, his wife was the witness.
Had 3-4 disposable cameras that we handed to the waitresses at the bar that we got married in front of (Caddy's). They were our photogs.
After the ceremony, went back to the bar, had a few drinks, and then walked across the street to the hotel and changed into shorts and ordered a pizza."Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".

Its still up in the air but her first choice of hotels in Cancun finally agreed to some discounts when they got wind she was looking elsewhere. Thanks for the replies and offers especially Joker. What a generous offer!

Thanks.
It really was a great way to do it. We spent the morning lounging on the beach, then took a ride to buy flowers, then back to the room to shower and change, and back to the beach for sunset.
Granted, it was a second (and last) marriage for us both.
I know many times the wedding can be a bigger thing for the parents than it is for the couple.
For us, we had already been living together a few years, and intended to get married a year earlier, but we couldn't schedule it with work.
This time, we happened to be in Orlando for a convention, and just took a few extra days to make our relationship legal.
Rented a convertible mustang to cruise out to TI, and had a relaxing time.
The barmaids actually did a great job with the photo's.
My best wishes to the new couple!"Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".

Is it me, or does it look like she's already trying to lean away from you on day 1 of the marriage???
