I tow with a DWR F350SD . I do not think I have ever needed FWD at a paved ramp. But those times when the trailer is still on a short steep ramp and the truck is on the gravel apron it could have gotten ugly. You probably will not need FWD often, BUT you will need it. FYI I have NEVER been able to back the trailer into my yard without having FWD engaged, and its almost dead flat ground. Duellys and grass are not a good combination. BTW my load is a 16,000# (when all gassed up) Formula

Hey Mild Thunder, what's your budget? I have a '97 dually w/ the 6.5 diesel AND 4x4 for $8000. has about $8k in new parts as well - ss diesel heads, marine injectors, manual boost control, new turbo, etc etc. White, extended cab - Perfrect for what you're doing and its actually not bad of a daily driver either.
