    Wow...Very nice.

I'm gonna' have to do my Vanguard trailer sometime in the future, and was going to go with factory spec'd paint, but after seeing this, I might have to give that idea some additional thinking.

Jim, I noticed in one picture the rusy leaf springs. They all do it, mine is 5 years old and look like crap. Did you do anything to your leaf springs or just spray them? I have never seen a good solution to rusty leaf springs.

Jim, what is this about taping off the inside? I know it is to get a good finish on both sides but did you just sand the tape line out? Seems like a lot of work. I was just going to spray in the inside first and then the outside.

[QUOTE=MOBILEMERCMAN;383926]Thanks guys. My buddy Robert has been working his but off. Today we did the near final preps, sprayed primer on the entire trailer and double coated all inside and lower surfaces. The plan is to tape off the inside, detail a few spots on fenders and outside rails and spray in a couple days.

These pix are just before priming. My battery went dead and could not take any after paint. Will follow up with more later.

It was one of the those things that you need to draw the line on. I cleaned with scotchbrite and a wire brush as well as I could and primed and painted.

Yes, we spent a ridiculous amount of time refinishing it. The U channel frame was taped on the inside horizontal surface tape facing down on the bottom and up on the top. You cannot recognize where the edge was.

Now the fun part for me. Rigging...mounting lights, wiring and brake lines.

Jim, Did you consider going EOH brakes? I see you still are running original drums.

No, Those plate assemblies were less the 60 dollars a piece and the drums where in good shape. I just fixed what I had.

After a few more winterizations I will finish assembling. She got her first sponge bath and blow dry this afternoon.

Being that it's a Black trailer, I'm thinking maybe Gray. That way the bunks will stand out better against the trailer when submerged and lining up to load.
