Yup! I've had that picture stuck in my head for years! We were talking about it the other day and I had to go look 'em up. I shudder to think how much I'd get accomplished if Al Gore hadn't invented the internet!

That's what the auction closed at. Down from $3k last time. Don't know if it actually sold this time or not. At this point, if it wasn't on the wrong coast, I'd be hard pressed to pass it up, even though it would mean making some moves on some other projects. Too bad.

The "For Sale" sign that is on the boat says $10,000 or B.O.
if it didn't hold the $3,000 first auction, I find it hard to believe it would sell for 1,125 now. On the other hand e-bay is e-bay....

I was told by reliable sourses that someone could pick the boat up for close to what the first auction closed at. It actually would make a nice project if the buyer had "an excess" of spares..

Here's a photo of that Cobra in Key West in 1986. Bob Oetringer was in the center as the driver of record and owner, Vance Shaf was on the starboard side navigating and that's yours truly on the port side on the sticks. We had 540's with single Holleys and #3 SSM 1.50:1. She loves rough water and we gave it to her!

Hey Ed, did you buy her back? If I didn't have two boat projects going already... Man do I dig that boat. Like I said, hope she gets her due!

No, I never owned her. It was Oetringers boat. It was the old "Night Wing".

Sorry I knew I misspoke when I typed that (the 'buy it back' part). I know I'm in a decided minority here, but I love the look of that boat.

    Not from a cobra ,,,,,i don't think !

But i know that Aero-tek and Fountain came from a 31 excalibur as well !

Also 312 chris craft and the scarab are based on that model.

I do think that excalibur came from Magnum, like most of the boats did.

Anyone know where this went or who has now? The deck looks similar to my old 34 Coyote.
