    I quit drinking...

    at 5AM.

    OOC- out of control...

The house I built/bought is in the middle of the little town I live in. Few bars in walking distance and many friends I can see from my deck. The like to stop by and drink all my booze; I join them. I need intervention- less than 4 hours since my last drink and feel like cracking a bottle of wine with my eggs.

A doctor gave a long time friend of mine two options:

    1) Quit drinking
    2) Die

I asked him what did he decide.

To be honest; when I make it to FL again you would be one that I'd like to have some whiskey with. I know you can't teach the school of hard knocks but I'm a good listener.

Actually, I'm not supposed to drink now. I went to the doctor to read my blood tests, and he said my liver enzymes were high. I take three self injected shots a week to treat MS. I read the Rebif drug is rough on your liver too.

I haven't, but as they say, there are more old drunks than there are old doctors.

I just checked my recycle bin. 4 liters of whisky this week. Somebody smuggled me a flask so I had a shot with mom after everybody left the funeral home Thursday.

When I was in my 20's, the doc had me cut back to four quarts of whiskey, and all the wine I could drink.

I remember drinking Manhattans. We ran out of whiskey, so I was drinking straight sweet vermouth!

John, been thinking about you buddy.
Told my Mom about your Mom earlier in the week, and when I spoke to her today, she had mentioned that she saw the obituary, and she was very impressed in your Mom's accomplishments.
    I'm sure it's rough.

She prepared me for it. She turned me on to the whiskey when I turned 21.

We all said goodbye when it was time to close the casket. My sisters said "Goodbye Mom."

I said: "Goodbye mom." "Goodbye teacher." "Goodbye buddy." "Goodbye mentor." "Goodbye peer." "Goodbye friend." "Goodbye wingman."
