1999 290 Powequest, starboard eng. cranks-won't start. Unable to hear fuel pump kick on. Turned key on and off after setting 2 hours, started. Went for a ride. Turn off-no start. Fuel pump or a relay? And how the heck do you get it out.

If you get the fuel pump out check it for numbers....I have a used one I'm selling and I listed the part number off the side of the housing.

Are we talking about the electric fuel pump in the cool fuel assembly? Isn't it on the port side of the motor under the exhaust on those motors? If it's what I'm thinking I can't see 8 hours....but I don't know your boat/engine.
