Got a 27 Fountain Fever with a 500hp and it has Graffig bolt on air operated mufflers bolted to the exterior of the boat that dont baffle any sound. Well, my question is are there any mufflers that will actually quiet the boat for docking? With the huge stainless headers I'm not sure that you can put the select system down thru the drive plus I'm sure its a few grand. I keep seeing different types of mufflers on the web and wasnt sure whats worth a dime.
Thanks in advance for the help.

12-28-2010 08:30 PMdump your water from the exhaust directly into the muffler with a dump (bung) and they will work much better.

Forgot to mention that the exhaust water is pumped to the sides of the boat and not thru the mufflers.
She runs fantastic but she's a little loud for the river.

01-01-2011 09:15 PMI'm with Jason. The water has to go into the muffler for it to work at all.
I have Gaffrig air actuated on the Scorpion and they work fine. I put about half the water through the muffler and dump the other half.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

Thanks
I'll try running some water thru them and see what happens. Now all I gotta do is wait for the Ice to melt thats covering the River.
