Need a couple of pieces of alumimun gunnel trim for a pontoon boat shipped from builder in Missouri to AL.24'x5" x 2".Only costs about $50 a piece, but having difficulty finding a reasonable shipping method.Always had it shipped with new pontoon boats, but don't have any on order now.Has to be shipped in full 24' lengths.Any thoughts?

06-17-2009 07:52 AMGot any carpet dealers or distributors in the area? The center cardboard tube(s) from a carpet roll might work. Then just ship it common carrier.

06-17-2009 07:54 AMIs there any trailer places near by that may have some trailers coming your way? I was lucky enough to get some metal shipped that way a while back. If they can get it strapped to some 2X4's that will help protect them. Try Forward Air?

Strap it to a pontoon boat coming to the closest dealer
