Perhaps one of the most legendary race boat in US history. 29 years later, "The Legend" still captivates us..... I consider myself lucky to see the new "Warpath" back in the race scene....

01-26-2013 08:14 PMThe new 42' Double Stepped Warrior is a project that I started in with the F2 36 race boat. What I originally set out to do was improve the performance of a World Champion hull design that I throttled to its first World Championship in 1984, after founding Apache powerboats. This original proven V design has gone on to win many victories, World Titles in the United States and abroad for many years after. By being open minded to all the new technology and material that was available, I felt that I could make a few performance improvements using some of today's technology, thus bringing this design to a whole new level. Working and testing hands on, I earned a good education on what worked and what did not...
First order of business was to reevaluate lamination schedules to see what can be done to reduce weight without giving up any structural integrity. Next, start consulting with naval architects to come up with an efficient venting system that will allow aeration without sacrificing any safety and turning ability, and no compromise of ride in true offshore conditions. After years of testing, and a few modifications, the 42 Chief is now a reality.
I am very proud of the final product and all the experts that have assisted throughout the project were also very impressed with the final product and performance. The tooling and technology are now finished with all of the research and development done.
X-dimensions, Drive height, Step technology, CG studies, etc….. Every test revealed new levels of performance. The boat was very responsive. I am very proud and glad that we are now at the point where the 42 is a world-class performance offshore boat. The company's tooling is designed to allow each boat to be truly, one of one. Nothing is set in stone and we can produce a Full Pleasure Poker Run, to a 3-man bolster canopied Race Boat. Nothing is beyond the abilities of the complete team. I enjoy the boat business and the many friends that I have meet throughout my time in power boating and thirty-five plus years of offshore racing. If you would like to discuss the current 42 project or Chief in general one on one, please give me a call; better yet come see the 42 Chief. I am very proud of the results.

Wow , and to think they are a little late producing one off boats ( custom ) considering other manufactures Skater , Fountain , etc , etc ,have been doing it for years now , and finally starting to reevaluate laminating schedules to reduce weight hmmmmmmmmmmmm once again a little late considering they should have thought of that a decade ago . Just my 2 Cents .

Where ya going with this, Artie?
A lot of builders have been offering custom builds, and others have only offered custom interior/finish/paint for many years.
Pantera will build you a light layup or heavy layup. What do you want?
The new Chief looks bad azz, and I have confidence it will perform.
Are you suggesting a different layup/material schedule?
I'm just confused at what you're suggesting, and crapping on this thread.
It's the rebirth of a bad azz hull, we should all be happy about that.

Bouy first of the lay up schedule should have been reevaluated years ago ( decade ) because the materials where there , and now they are offering a boat that is a one off ( custom ) Canopies , etc , etc , what ever your wallet will bear or the look that you may want~ because as clearly stated the Co's tooling is designed to allow each boat to be truly , one of one ,because nothing is beyond there abilities well.............................( excample ) no two Skater's really are alike or any of the previous boats we built in the past Fountain , Cig , Platinum , etc etc , meaning that everything that came out of that stable ( Skater ) was custom , custom , from the hull , deck , cannopies / canopy , hatches with scoops , layup , etc , etc, or once again what ever your wallet will bare right down to the paint , and when i say custom i mean custom no deck mold's being used what so ever with the exception of the hull that is re-worked to fit the customer's wants or bill .
