It appears that you are suggesting that the all new Pantera 41 is an appropriate comparison to old project Apaches.
Are bare, painted hulls and unrigged boats available to the public at price points similar to those at which one might buy an older, project Apache 41?
Like the original poster, I have an interest in the restoration of old Apaches, and would maybe consider restoring one of the new Panteras too.Warning: This post may contain language unsuitable for minors or math not suitable for liberal-arts majors.

Since we happen to find ourselves in the Apache section, and the original poster asked for an Apache.....
I am surprised that Pantera wants this boat (well hull anyway) marketed against 20 year old apaches on the occasions when someone is specifically looking for an apache project boat.
I would think that they would want some differentiation, on account of the steps and everything. I would think that they would want to steer clear of any notion that the new Pantera is really an old apache dressed up with steps. But heck, it's the marine business. We've see some amazing things over the years.Warning: This post may contain language unsuitable for minors or math not suitable for liberal-arts majors.

02-24-2010 02:47 PMThanks Jerry -- yes is this Alter ego -- RHC seems to think that Alter was a short stagger though.
The boat has been in LOTO since 02' supposedly, was bought out of Florida from a broker -- I believe Fastboats. The boat has sat at performance for the last 2 years and was not in the water for 07'either.
If anyone has any more info on this boat I'd appreciate it -- i'm going to see it this w/e. i realize that it will be heavy -- i'd love to find a short stagger just not too many around
