Why the change? Maybe I an old dog not wanting to learn something new, but this new format just isn't very user friendly. At least give me back the link for new post.It just made keeping up with whats going on a lot easer

11-09-2011 11:38 PMHowdy. It's there, we're working on making it better.
Top Bar on left, Quick Links, Today's Posts. Gives you exactly the same as before.
There are more options with this new release, we're working on programming the bugs out to make the best of both worlds.
And input is definitely encouraged. We won't get everything for everybody, but we'll get a lot....Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

Change sucks. But sometimes you have to.
The software we are running hasn't been current for over a year. It's close to the point where they will no longer support it. So if you waited until that happens, you're on your own if a problem occurs. It's not like updating the word processing software on your PC. It's very involved.
We have every intention of looking into every suggestion on how to make the software more user friendly. The new posts button is on the list, so instead of having to access it from a dropdown it will be a button up top.

FYI- we are simplifying the navigation. We will be changing to a dedicated "new posts" button as well as some others.

I've found that since the software upgrade posting "complicated" replies has gotten MUCH easier, i.e. embedding videos, pics, etc.
I've seen on other v-bulletin site where you could change font size in replies. That's not available here. Is this something we can unlock?"Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".

01-03-2012 08:58 AMAny possibility of a "New Posts" or "Whats New" button? That is how I look at forums, and honestly the lack of one has been keeping me away from S.O.

We are working on a mod that will make that a feature all by itself- a button in the top nav bar.
You should be seeing that one soon. Sorry for the delays- the holidays...

01-03-2012 01:04 PMDoes the drop down with Todays post only shows todays post or all post since you last visited? I think it only shows todays post and I would rather see all post since I last visited, like rchevelle said thats how I look at sites now as it saves me time. Also I don't like how all the pics in threads are small and you have to click on each one to make it bigger. These are the only 2 issues I would like to see changed.

01-03-2012 01:49 PMIt shows teh posts made within the past 24 hours. So not really today's if you consider a midnight start. Wihin that 24 hour timeframe, it shows the titles in bold if posts have been made to the thread since your last visit. I do not know if it can be changed to the last visit timeframe. But, we'll try to find out.
The pics in threads are always small unless they are loaded with an embedded link to a photo host such as Flicker or Photobucket. I think this is true for every website using VBulletin software. The bandwidth required to host the photos themselves in high resolution/large size would be tremendous.
When you go to one of Pete's or Freeze's threads and look at the pics there they are large, correct?Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!
